Even if they do not use air pressure to contact their faces
Dedicated team to establish a Korean branch for expansion
O2O2 Facewear, a New Zealander start-up Grand Challenge company, is an innovative mask maker and vendor that protects the human body from fine dust and germs.
Unlike conventional masks that are close to one's face, this is an innovative solution that can prevent fine dust and germs even if they do not use air pressure to contact their faces.
O2O2 Facewear’s CEO Dan Bowden, confidently says the current product developed by the company is an innovative product that is opening a new era of mask and respiratory products. The mask not only protects the human body from air pollution but also employs a state-of-the-art design to improve upon the conventional masks’ shortcomings. Simply put, nanotechnology filter technology can purify contaminated air 50 times faster than conventional masks and allow users to control it with mobile devices by linking masks to smartphones.
O2O2 Facewear's business model is a B2C model that combines product and filter sales and sells directly to buyers through its own site and network.
In comparison to conventional masks: Most masks in the market must be close to the skin to prevent fresh air from entering; otherwise, more than 90% of the masks will not work properly.
O2O2 Facewear targets consumers 25 to 35 years of age and are looking to provide a better product for those who have design discomfort with existing masks considering factors such as exercise, make-up, and facial hair.
According to a survey by O2O2 Facewear, seven million people worldwide die or afflicted from air pollution annually.
O2O2 Facewear CEO Dan Bowden is a serial entrepreneur, who has participated since its inception-O2O2 Facewear’s valuation has already surpassed $1.5 billion. One of the reasons for starting O2O2 Facewear was that some co-founders had to use masks every day and their families were worried about air pollution.
The disadvantages with existing masks are a lot of marketability and new challenges.
O2O2 Facewear currently has strong mask competitors such as 3M, Vogue Mask, Cambridge Mask, and Meo. O2O2 Facewear is different given it has digital applications that offer air purification, innovative design, and real-time monitoring.
Dan loves Korea a lot and wants to expand his business in Korea. Currently, there are plans to work with Korean technology developers to develop O2O2 mask products. He is also thinking about marketing in Korean social networks. He will create a dedicated team to establish a Korean branch for expansion.
